OKLAHOMA CITY - The Dallas Mavericks Oklahoma City Thunder's surprise with a big first quarter, closed to 27-12, and then contain the opponents' late comeback by winning93-87 Saturday night for the game that brings them forward to 2-1 in the finals WesternConference. The series will continue Monday with fourth-ever race in Oklahoma City.
After the 15-point advantage at the end of the first 12 minutes, the Mavs have alwaysbeen ahead despite a desperate attempt to comeback in the last period of Thunder whotook them on the -4 to 24 seconds from the end.
The hosts struggled a lot to throw so much to miss their first 16 attempts from three points. They then placed the seventeenth and last with 35 seconds to play for 83-88.
Russell Westbrook in the fourth quarter has put 14 of his 30 points including the lasttriple and Kevin Durant 9 of his 24 but the Thunder was not enough to overcome Dallasin scoring for the last period 31-23.
Even Dirk Nowitzki did not play his best game in the fourth quarter but put 10 of his 18points helping to thwart the comeback opponent. 18 points for the Mavs has left its markeven Shawn Marion.
